Tools4AI Hackathon Official Rules

1. Dates and Timing

Constants AI Inc.'s systems are the official timekeeping devices.

2. Sponsor and Administrator

Sponsor and Administrator: Constants AI Inc. ("Constants" or the "Sponsor"). Questions about the hackathon or these Official Rules may be sent to support@constants.io.

The hackathon is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Anthropic, OpenAI, Discord, or X.

4. How to Enter

1. Sign in to a Constants account and complete the registration form by the Registration Deadline.
2. During the Submission Period, create and publish a new tool using the Constants platform.
3. Complete all required submission fields and submit the materials described below by the end of the Submission Period. Submissions may be made in the event Discord or by email to hello@constants.io.

Registration alone is not an entry. A complete submission received during the Submission Period is required to compete for a prize. Use of Constants and any third-party platform is subject to the terms that apply to that service. Any internet, subscription, API, or third-party service charges are the Entrant's responsibility.

Tool Requirements

An eligible tool must:

• be newly created and published with Constants during the Submission Period
• be publicly runnable, function from input through final result, and remain accessible to the Sponsor through the end of judging
• be demonstrated working inside Claude or ChatGPT, as applicable
• comply with the Constants Publishing Guidelines, Terms of Service, and applicable third-party terms
• use third-party SDKs, APIs, data, open-source software, and other materials only as authorized by their owners and licenses
• not infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, contract, or other rights, and not contain malicious or unlawful material

Submission Requirements

Each submission must include:

• a public URL for the published Constants tool
• a screen recording that clearly shows the tool being used successfully inside Claude or ChatGPT
• a link to a public post on X featuring the tool, which will be used to measure the Most Popular category
• a written description of the tool's purpose, intended users, features, and functionality
• any team-member and category information requested by Constants

Submission materials must be accurate, suitable for public viewing, and free of third-party material unless the Entrant has permission to use it. Materials must be in English or include an English translation. Incomplete, late, inaccessible, deceptive, or noncompliant submissions may be disqualified.

A complete submission must be posted in the event Discord or sent to hello@constants.io by the end of the Submission Period. The Sponsor's receipt of the Discord message or email determines whether a submission is timely.

One Submission

Each Eligible Individual may participate in only one submitted tool, whether entering alone or as part of a Team. Each Entrant may submit only one tool. Additional submissions are ineligible.

Testing

Each tool must remain available to the Sponsor and Judges free of charge and without unreasonable restrictions through the end of judging. Judges may evaluate an entry using the live tool, written description, images, screen recording, public X post, or any combination of those materials. Judges are not required to test every tool personally.

Ownership and Representation

Each Entrant represents that its submission is its original work, that it owns or has permission to use all submission components, and that submitting and displaying the entry does not violate any agreement or third-party right. A Representative submitting for a Team makes these representations on behalf of every participating member.

5. Submission Modifications

Before the Deadline

Entrants may modify or replace their submission materials until the Submission Period ends. The version received at the deadline is the version eligible for judging.

After the Deadline

Submissions may not be substantively changed after the Submission Period. The Sponsor may permit a limited correction to remove or replace material that may infringe a third-party right, expose personal information, contain malicious content, or otherwise be inappropriate. Any permitted correction must leave the submission substantively the same as it was at the deadline.

6. Judges and Criteria

Eligible submissions will be evaluated by one or more Judges selected by the Sponsor. Judges may be Sponsor employees or third parties, may not be publicly identified, and may change before or during judging. The Sponsor may use one or more judging rounds.

Eligibility Review

The Sponsor may first determine, on a pass or fail basis, whether a submission is complete, eligible, built with Constants during the Submission Period, responsive to the hackathon theme, and functional enough to be judged.

Judging Criteria

Eligible submissions in judged categories will be evaluated using the following equally weighted criteria:

1. Ease of use: Can someone understand the tool's name, inputs, and interface without explanation?
2. Creativity: Does the tool solve a problem in a novel or unexpected way?
3. Impact: Does the tool aim to solve a real problem for a real audience?
4. Execution: Does the tool work reliably from input to final result?

Award Categories

• Best Overall: awarded to the eligible submission with the strongest overall result under all four Judging Criteria
• Most Popular: awarded to the eligible submission with the greatest combined number of legitimate likes and reposts on its submitted X post at the close of the Submission Period
• Most Creative: awarded to the eligible submission with the strongest result for Creativity, subject to meeting a reasonable standard for the other Judging Criteria

Artificial, paid, automated, fraudulent, or coordinated manipulation of engagement is prohibited. The Sponsor may exclude suspicious or unverifiable engagement and may disqualify an Entrant for attempted manipulation.

Tie Breaking

A tie for Best Overall will be resolved by comparing the tied submissions' scores for Ease of use, then Creativity, then Impact, then Execution. A tie for Most Creative will be resolved by the higher overall score under the four Judging Criteria. A tie for Most Popular will be resolved using the Best Overall criteria. If a tie remains, the Judges will vote on the tied submissions.

All eligibility, engagement-validity, judging, and tie-breaking decisions of the Sponsor and Judges are final.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

Entrants retain ownership of their tools and submission materials. By submitting an entry, each Entrant grants the Sponsor a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to access, host, test, reproduce, display, and evaluate the entry as needed to operate and judge the hackathon.

For three years after the Submission Period, the Entrant also grants the Sponsor a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, excerpt, and distribute the submitted tool name, description, images, screen recording, and X post to promote the hackathon, its participants, and its results. This license does not transfer ownership of the tool to the Sponsor.

Each Entrant represents that the submission contains no malware, spyware, disabling code, or other harmful mechanism and that its authorized use under these Official Rules will not violate a third-party right.

8. Prizes

• Best Overall: $1,000 USD cash and one year of Constants Pro, quantity one
• Most Popular: $1,000 USD cash and one year of Constants Pro, quantity one
• Most Creative: $1,000 USD cash and one year of Constants Pro, quantity one

The total cash prize pool is $3,000 USD. The Sponsor may also name runners-up to receive Constants Pro accounts. Runner-up awards have no cash value, and the applicable account term will be communicated when the award is offered.

Multiple Prize Eligibility

A submission may receive only one cash prize. If the same submission would otherwise win more than one category, the Sponsor may award it the category the Sponsor determines is the best fit and select the next eligible submission for the other category.

Substitutions and Changes

Prizes are non-transferable. The Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if an advertised prize becomes unavailable. The Sponsor will not award a category prize if there are no eligible submissions for that category.

Verification Requirement

A potential winner is not a final winner until the Sponsor verifies the Entrant's identity, eligibility, ownership, role in creating the submission, and compliance with these Official Rules. The Sponsor may require a declaration of eligibility, release, tax form, payment information, or other documentation (collectively, "Required Forms"). Required Forms must be returned within ten business days after they are sent unless the Sponsor specifies a different period.

Prize Delivery

Prizes will be paid or provided to an individual Entrant, to the Representative of a Team, as applicable. The Representative is responsible for allocating a Team prize among participating members. Subject to timely receipt and verification of the Required Forms, the Sponsor will use reasonable efforts to deliver prizes within 60 days. Incorrect or incomplete information may delay delivery or result in forfeiture and selection of an alternate winner.

Fees and Taxes

Winners are responsible for taxes, wire fees, currency conversion, reporting obligations, and other costs associated with receiving or using a prize. Winners may be required to submit a Form W-9, Form W-8BEN, or other tax documentation. The Sponsor may withhold amounts when required by applicable law.

9. Entry Conditions and Release

By participating, each Entrant and participating member agrees that:

• the relationship between the Entrant and the Sponsor is not confidential, fiduciary, or otherwise a special relationship
• the Entrant will comply with these Official Rules and the final decisions of the Sponsor and Judges
• to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Entrant releases, indemnifies, defends, and holds harmless the Sponsor, Promotion Entities, prize providers, and their respective parents, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents (the "Released Parties") from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from the entry, participation, authorized use of the submission, or acceptance or use of a prize

Without limiting the above, the Released Parties are not responsible for incorrect information, technical failures, network or platform interruptions, unauthorized intervention, human or processing error, or injury or damage arising from participation or prize use, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

The Released Parties are not responsible for incomplete, late, misdirected, lost, inaccessible, corrupted, illegible, or incomprehensible submissions or for an Entrant's changed email address. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt. If a submission is lost or corrupted, the Entrant's sole remedy is to promptly request permission to resubmit, which the Sponsor may grant or deny in its discretion.

10. Publicity

To the extent permitted by law, participation authorizes the Sponsor and those acting on its behalf to identify and promote the Entrant, Team, tool, and submission. This may include use of a participant's name, likeness, photograph, voice, opinions, comments, and general location in any media, worldwide, for advertising, promotional, and event-recap purposes without further payment or approval. Where consent is legally required, the Sponsor will request it before such use.

11. General Conditions

The Sponsor may cancel, suspend, extend, or modify the hackathon, or any part of it, if fraud, technical failure, legal restriction, platform outage, or another event outside the Sponsor's reasonable control prevents fair, safe, or lawful operation. If feasible, the Sponsor may select winners from eligible submissions received before the change.

The Sponsor may disqualify an Entrant that tampers with registration, submission, judging, engagement metrics, or operation of the hackathon; acts inappropriately or unsportsmanlike; violates these Official Rules or applicable law; or threatens the integrity, safety, or reputation of the hackathon or its community. Suspected unlawful conduct may be referred to law enforcement.

If these Official Rules conflict with another hackathon advertisement, announcement, submission form, or website statement, these Official Rules control. Material amendments will be posted on this page and may also be emailed to registered participants. Entrants should send requests to clarify a potentially ambiguous rule to support@constants.io before the Submission Period ends.

Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. If a provision is illegal or unenforceable in a jurisdiction, it will be replaced to the extent possible by a valid provision that most closely reflects its purpose, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

Excluding Entrants' submissions, all intellectual property associated with the hackathon, including its name, branding, website, designs, text, graphics, and promotional materials, is owned by or licensed to the Sponsor. All rights are reserved.

12. Limitations of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Released Parties will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from the hackathon, a submission, or a prize. Limitations that are unlawful in a participant's jurisdiction, including limitations involving gross negligence, intentional misconduct, death, or bodily injury, do not apply to the extent prohibited.

13. Disputes

Except where prohibited by law, disputes or causes of action arising from the hackathon or a prize must be resolved individually and not through a class, collective, or representative action. Any recovery is limited to actual out-of-pocket costs directly associated with entering the hackathon, and Entrants waive claims for punitive, incidental, consequential, multiplied, or increased damages and attorneys' fees, except where such a waiver is prohibited.

Nothing in these Official Rules changes any governing-law, venue, or dispute-resolution rights or obligations that apply under the Constants Terms of Service or applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow particular limitations or waivers, so parts of this section may not apply to every Entrant.

14. Additional Terms

The Constants Terms of Service and Publishing Guidelines are incorporated into these Official Rules. If those terms conflict with these Official Rules on a hackathon-specific issue, these Official Rules control only for this hackathon. Use of Claude, ChatGPT, Discord, X, or another third-party service remains subject to that service's separate terms and policies.

15. Entrant Personal Information

Constants will collect and use registration and submission information to operate, administer, communicate about, and publicize the hackathon, verify eligibility, measure results, and deliver prizes. Personal information is handled under the Constants Privacy Policy. Public submissions, X posts, and winner information may remain publicly available.
